Security at LiteHelpDesk

Every customer conversation contains valuable information. Whether it’s support requests, personal details, attachments, or business knowledge, we understand that protecting your data is fundamental to earning your trust.

Security isn’t an afterthought at LiteHelpDesk—it’s built into the platform from day one. From encrypted connections and secure infrastructure to access controls and ongoing platform improvements, we continuously work to help protect the information entrusted to us.

Our goal is simple: provide a customer support platform that businesses can rely on with confidence.

Our Security Principles

Everything we build is guided by four core principles.

Privacy by Design

Security and privacy are considered throughout the development process, not added after features are complete.

We design our platform to minimise unnecessary exposure of customer information while helping businesses maintain control over their support data.

Secure by Default

LiteHelpDesk is configured to use modern security practices by default, reducing the need for complicated configuration.

Where possible, secure settings are enabled automatically to help protect your business from common risks.

Continuous Improvement

Security is never finished.

We continually review, monitor and improve our platform to address emerging threats, improve resilience and strengthen customer protections.

Transparency

We believe customers should understand how their data is handled.

When significant security improvements are made, we aim to communicate them clearly and honestly.

Infrastructure Security

LiteHelpDesk is hosted using professionally managed cloud infrastructure designed to provide reliability, scalability and security.

Our hosting environment incorporates multiple layers of protection to help maintain platform availability and safeguard customer information.

Infrastructure protections may include:

  • Secure cloud hosting

  • Network firewalls

  • Infrastructure monitoring

  • Automated backups

  • System logging

  • Availability monitoring

  • Disaster recovery procedures

Encryption

Encryption in Transit

All communication between users, customer websites and LiteHelpDesk is protected using HTTPS and modern Transport Layer Security (TLS).

This helps encrypt information while it travels across the internet and reduces the risk of unauthorised interception.

HTTPS is used to help secure:

  • Customer chat conversations

  • Support tickets

  • Knowledge Base searches

  • User authentication

  • Administrative access

  • API communications

Encryption at Rest

Where appropriate, sensitive customer information is encrypted while stored within our systems.

Encryption at rest provides an additional layer of protection by helping ensure stored information cannot be easily accessed without appropriate authorisation.

Access Controls

Access to customer information is restricted using authentication and authorisation controls designed to ensure users only access information relevant to their role.

These controls help reduce the risk of unauthorised access while supporting secure day-to-day operations.

Customer Data

Your customer information belongs to you.

LiteHelpDesk processes customer data solely for the purpose of delivering the Services.

We do not sell customer information or use customer support conversations for advertising purposes.

AI Security

LiteHelpDesk supports integrations with leading AI providers, including Bring Your Own AI (BYO AI) configurations.

When AI functionality is enabled, only the information necessary to generate responses is transmitted to your selected AI provider.

Customers remain in control of which AI provider they use and are responsible for reviewing the privacy policies and terms of their chosen provider.

Platform Availability

We understand that customer support doesn’t stop after business hours.

Our platform is designed to provide reliable service and ongoing availability.

Although we work hard to maintain uninterrupted access, scheduled maintenance, software updates or unforeseen events may occasionally affect availability.

Where practical, planned maintenance will be communicated in advance.

Responsible Security

Security is a shared responsibility.

While LiteHelpDesk implements technical and organisational safeguards, customers also play an important role in protecting their accounts by:

  • Using strong passwords

  • Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (where available)

  • Restricting administrator access

  • Keeping user accounts up to date

  • Protecting API credentials

  • Reviewing user permissions regularly

Incident Response

If we become aware of a security incident affecting the LiteHelpDesk platform, we will investigate promptly and take appropriate action to contain, assess and remediate the issue.

Where required by applicable law, affected customers will be notified as soon as reasonably practicable.

Compliance

LiteHelpDesk is developed with security and privacy best practices in mind and supports businesses seeking to protect customer information in accordance with applicable privacy obligations, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

As our platform evolves, we continue to review our security controls, policies and operational practices to improve the protection of customer data.

Our Commitment

Security is an ongoing commitment—not a feature.

We continue investing in our platform, infrastructure and processes to help businesses deliver customer support with confidence.

As LiteHelpDesk grows, so too will our security capabilities, ensuring the platform remains reliable, secure and worthy of the trust our customers place in us every day.
